I have 4 100 watt solar panels on the top of our cabin thats located on an island in the mississippi river in illinois/iowa border. We wont be able to access the cabin much in the winter unelss the river freezes mostly over and i will take my hovercraft across to the cabin. I have 6 semi batteries that are under the cabin outside. I have a 3000 watt pure sine wave inverter. Will it be ok to leave it all hooked up. Should i leave a little light on to keep the batteries running down some as well?

Actually the difference in battery types is grossly overworked in my opinion. Buy deep cycle means spend a lot more. Starter batteries at 15% ? Never heard that before but that can be debunked by every car start usually draws 60-70 amps out and that drops the battery voltage dramatically. I would estimate that most car batteries are at 50% most of the time and work best when 60-100 amp alternators quickly put juice back into them at 13.8 Volts. Using them as a storage battery would probably just help them to sulphate up some . I have a battery on my water pump motor that gets no input until I start the pump , which can be after a 6 month period , and it has lasted with no input otherwise for 13 years!

Hmm well there is some deep mis-statement or mis-understanding there that I dont have the time to waste on so I will go no further . You believe what you want.
