Dennis461 ...Is there a way to use photobucket without all the crud it sends down the line? perhaps you are not aware that they download adds with the photo and I have to download the pic again to be able to "view" the image . Its a pain really and I wanted to look more closely at your setup.
Dave Simmo ... Any progress on bigger pics?
Johann ...It seems you are combining a quantity of panels to pos and neg bus bar and that goes I suppose to battery and inverter. So you have a circuit breaker DC on each panel. I wondered why ? For Lightening I would have thought a say 120 amp fuse on the input (after bus bars ) would be enough protection . I am interested in what your thinking was when you built this and whether I can use something similar on mine .

Johann You are one of the old timers. Have you heard from Dale?? Ryann?
I got laid up both shoulders are new when I got well enough to log back in the site changes to this. It looks like all the old threads are gone.
How is your system doing? Mine is hanging in there.
tytower For some reason the pic show up that size. Use Piacasa 3 it may help in veiwing. I breaker and Fuses everywhere I think they are remotely needed. My System it 12 volt going to keep it that way. Still expanding. The Wind Gen and Six 45 Watt HF Kits charge two Golf Cart Batteries. The Windgen is Useless except right now in winter storms I get 4 amps out of the into the batts 90 percent of the time I get Zip from it. I have a Trickel charger hooked up to it right now to bleed off of the bigger system. The Two batteries light up or 4000 Square foot house. The Lights are .4 amp LED producing 510 lumens. They pull nothing.
The Larger 8 Battery run the house. And are charged by 18 Mix of DM158 and DM145 panels. Fridge Washing machine TVs. Evaporative coolers all run off this.
Do I know what I am doing No. I am still a novice. But what I go going has been working Since 2012.
My I have fried Lights Multimeters and had a small fire in on ceiling fan I cooked. All were my fault.
Johann is one of the Advanced folks in this. I am so happy to see him here.

These are some of the uses I Have found for Rope Lights. I have found these things 1.The Batts Last 2 Years. 1 st time replacing is a bear to learn. But Not Impossible and The replacements Batts are still going. 2. Best usage for me are remote sheds and stalls. Best adhesive for me Not duct tape but Gorilla Tape (dont skimp I did once. 3. Mirrors do Help. 3. Doubling up 2 Ropes lights instead of 1 rope will make neighbors ask and copy. It 4 Backings dollar store Plastic Shiny mirrored surfaces work best.( Serving trays amd yes they have been in service for a long time)) Slap (epoxy)a Garage sale mirror in the middle. Keep the experiment Cheep. Unless the wife likes walking in lit woods mine does

Hello everyone. Nice photos. Not sure how to add any photos of the projects I and it keeps loosing the screen. But nice projects judging from the photos. I am hoping to learn more on solar. I saw a YouTube video where a guy setup a system and powered 1.5kW AC with an inverter an no batteries. It was straight sunlight. Very impressive. I don't think there are inverters that do that without some for of batteries attached. Anyway...hope to learn more. Hello and thanks.
